Bingo Fundraising Information
LOCATION: Delta bingo – 1650 Dundas St E. – 2 street lights east of Dixie (sponsor’s room – 905-615-1959 or manager’s number 905-615-8707)
Bingo halls have been facing increased competition from Casinos. Therefore a number of halls have closed down recently. Fortunately the Delta Bingo is still poised to continue its operation as MCC is heavily dependant on the revenue we earn through this hall – it currently represents almost 30% of our total revenue. Without the bingo revenue, we would most likely need to double our registration fees to continue our existing programs. Therefore it is critical that we meet our obligation for consistently providing volunteers to work at the bingos as there is a waiting list of organizations looking for a new hall.
While the vast majority of our members live up to their bingo requirement, we have seen an increasing number of people that miss their bingo date, or show up late. Therefore we have instituted a new bingo policy to address this problem. The new policy states:
Each paddler, or their guardian if under the age of 18, is responsible for performing the designated number of bingo dates as stipulated by the Board of Directors. The dates must be arranged before registration in MCC programs is fully accepted and the paddler attends their first practice.
At the time of registration, a cheque in the amount of $250.00 must be provided for each bingo date. If the pre-arranged bingo date is not completed, the cheque will be cashed immediately.
The paddler/guardian is responsible for arriving at the hall 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
At present, we require you to arrive by 5:45 PM on your bingo date. For those of you that consistently fulfill your bingo obligation and show up on time, we thank you for your support – the new policy should have no impact on you, other than writing your bingo cheques for a higher amount. The new cheque amount is in line with other sports organizations.
To help you remember the dates, we will be posting approximately two months of the schedule on the Bulletin Board on the Front Page of the MCC website, with the volunteer’s name. At registration, we will also be providing a copy of the policy, along with a confirmation of the dates you booked, and the bingo coordinator’s contact information, so you can post it on your calendar as a reminder.
