Missy is proud as all get out to learn that two of its own – equipment director Tamás Buday Sr., and past Commodore and former coaching director Eric Smith – have been named to the Mississauga Sports Hall of Fame.
Both Tamás – an Olympic and ICF Canoe Sprint World Championship medal winner, legendary five-time Olympic team and National team coach since 1989 – and Eric – a two-time Olympian and six-time World Championship canoer – were announced on March 5, 2012, as being among the four new inductees to the Mississauga Hall of Fame.
They will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 38th Annual Mississauga Sports Dinner on June 7, 2012, at the Capital Banquet Centre, an event that’s organized and hosted by the Mississauga Sports Council.
With Tamás and Eric, that means eight Missy alumni in the Hall!
Please mark June 7, 2012, in your calendar, as it would be great to have a big Missy turnout for this! The organizers are very happy to work with us to put together a block of tables. Watch this site for more information as it becomes available.
