Junior Team Trials, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

13 of MCC’s top Junior athletes traveled the 1600km (by plane) to compete at the first of two Junior World Team selection events.  The top performances at these events will be used in selecting the 2011 Junior World Team that will be representing Canada in Brandenburg, Germany in August.

MCC has a handful of athletes that are in contention for the team.

Chris Vincent led the MCC camp with very respectable 1st/2nd place finishes in C2 1000m and C1 1000m.  Joel Castonguay teamed up with Vincent in the C2 event steering the two-man boat to a PB time of 3:50.8!  Lee Barich also had a stellar weekend racing well in the three events capped with a 3rd place finish in C1 200m. Honourable mentions go out to George Hurley Jr., Drew Gildner, Sebastian Serdegna, Katie Vincent and Haley Langlois and Holly Zita for putting together one of their best K2 500m efforts.

1 down, 1 to go MCC Juniors. Keep thinking Lederhosen!!!!
